Manicures and Martini’s at the Beauty Bar

With locations in Vegas, LA, and NYC, Beauty Bar is hardly a newcommer to the bar scene. What is new, though, is the amount of cash left in your wallet after a night out here. For any ladies tired of dishing out wads of bills for $12 martinis, this place is for you.

Just as the name suggests, Beauty Bar is reminiscent of beauty parlors your grandma might have visited in the 50′s: pink and blue, roller silhouettes, and enormous hair dryers on every wall. Mixed in with the perfume bottles and pantyhose posters is an actual bar and a small but strong martini list. With names like Shampoo and Prell, you can bet the drinks are a tiny bit sugary for those with a more refined palette, but at $8 a pop, you can’t go wrong for a social sip.

For more of a Girls Night Out, grab your BFF’s and call ahead: Beauty Bar offers a Manicures and Martinis special that includes getting your nails done with a Beauty Bar custom martini for only $10. If you have a big party be sure to call ahead- it can be a long wait to have your manicure done with only two (wonderful) manicurists doing the work.

After your nails are dry you can try to grab dinner rezzies at any of the Union Squares and Alphabet City restaurants in the immediate area, or just saunter into the backroom of Beauty Bar for some 80′s-riffic dancing courtesy of the tunes of Duran Duran and Flock of Seagulls. Couture? Not even close. A cheap and fun night out? For sure.
