The District Eats: Laizzes les bon temps rouler!

Zattarains Jumbalaya

I don’t know if it’s the urge to bring everyone inside from the cold or sheer winter laziness that forces me to give up going out and have a ton of dinner parties this time of year. I’m a sucker for bring-your-own and family style, and particularly, dessert tables.

The total New Orleans-ophile I am, this year, I’m betting on beignets.

All you need to make this lil southern poof of delight is corn oil, sunflower oil, or another oil of your choice, a deep pot, and the ingredients listed in this simple recipe from the people at Nola Cuisine.

Of course, you can always but a premade mix and do the mixing and cooking yourself for a quick fix. Try the unbeatable gold box from New Orleans institution, Cafe du Monde.

In General I do not submit on websites, but I would prefer to state that this place in truth pushed me to do so! Incredibly excellent submit.
