Cute Across the Globe: My Favorite International Fashion Blogs
Even with the recent news of the shuddering of one of the web’s top fashion blogs, I’ve been getting my fashion and voyeuristic fix spying on a steady wave of favorites. Slightly narcissistic, slightly fantastical, all of these great blogs are penned by beautiful ladies from all over the world, bringing their countries best flair to the web. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or just wanna make a shopping list, these are the blogs to check out.
Le Blog de Betty: A daily journal by Modepass’s most coveted fashionista and French ingenue, Betty. Her style if quirky and sexy, a French Zooey Deschanel, and while her looks might be questionable for the common American to stroll into work wearing, you can always dissect bits and pieces of her brave outfits and apply them to everything – even your staple work wear.
Sex and Coffee: A gorgeous US co-ed with couture class like nobody’s business. While this blog hasn’t been updated since holiday-time 2010, I’ve got high hopes that she’ll come back out from under her rock and dazzle us with her *amazing* figure and adorable dorky yet chic style again. Until that happens, you can still flip through the archives and get a gander at sophisticated ways to wear short skirts and the many, many lives of booties.
Sammy Davis Vintage: Full disclosure – Sammy Davis is a friend, and was actually the person who was with me when I picked up my constantly-complimented 90′s Michael Kors brown peacoat and the 20′s silver clutch I’m saving for my wedding. Besides having a sharp eye for vintage fashion, this New Yorker is whip-smart at putting together brilliant outfits out of nearly anything. Just have a t-shirt, shorts and hair clip? Sammy will make you look like a supermodel. Her digital brand is more about finding happiness in yourself than purchasing clothes, and that’s a healthy way to go about dressing yourself.
Trop Rouge: Another Frenchie with style (what a shock), this fabulous lady is one of Stylelist.com’s network of fashion bloggers for her ethereal but very urban style. She has a fun and funky outfit and her outfits always seem effortlessly put together. Best of all, she’s quickly climbing the charts to fashion celebrity, and it’s a lot of fun to watch the press mentions, photo shoots and other awards spill in.
Barcalonette: More about the fashion industry than putting together cute looks, Barcalonette is simply adorable, and very, very smart. Watch this girl as she maneuvers the fashion world, visiting showrooms and fashion week, and then applying her smarts to lookbooks, clippings and, finally, herself. She’s gorgeous in a down-to-earth way and one of the few fashion blogs where you feel like you could match her wits and actually wear something she’s pointing out. It’s also a great look at the fashion industry in Barcelona.
RebeccaPrus.com: Rebecca is a New York-based writer and traveler who has a great habit of flying around the world and picking up the best tips from everywhere she goes. She’s gorgeous and smart, and along with that comes the killer instinct of which shops will go big, which designers have a story, and what runway fashions are going to go viral. From outfit photos to boutique round-ups, Rebecca is everywhere – Puerto Rico, Asia, Brazil.
