Scents and Sensibility
Coco Chanel once said “A women who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” I don’t know if I would take it that far, but the benefits of owning scents are marvelous. From a mental standpoint, fragrance can aid a lapsing memory; emotionally, scents bring us back to feelings we thought we’d forgotten. My favorite reason to douse on the perfume is that it takes me away to someplace else. Be it floral or musky, one little spritz of a perfume can take you back to a favorite city or exotic location you’ve never stepped foot in. Below, find my five recommendations for being whisked away by your scents.

L’Occitane Honey & Lemon Eau De Tiolette
This heavy but tasty fragrance evokes images of the deep south by dripping with Honey and loads of citrus. Like the sweet South, it’s accessible, adorable, and a little funky.

Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
This ultra feminine scent is ultimate Uptown New York City. Though it’s teeming with White Amber, the sophisticated and gentle musk is akin to Upper East Side lovelies who know how to use their wits.

Missoni Missoni
When a luxurious European getaway just isn’t possible, spritz this woodsy mix of Persimmon, Bitter Orange, and Hazelnut, and literally breathe in coastal Italy. Take an afternoon getaway to Lake Como, all courtesy of these kings of Italian couture.

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist
Sleek and seductive as it’s packaging, DK’s Cashmere Mist is appropriately named. Sensual as a tough, hard city, but exotic, with notes of Sandalwood, Patchouli, and Vanilla, it’s matched only by the luxury and urban background of a Middle Eastern powerhouse like Dubai.

India Hicks Island Night Eau De Toilette
As the name suggests, this sweet spray is chock-full of Jasmine, Orange Blossom Nectar, and White Orchids for a beachy and down to Earth scent, Jamaica in a bottle.
