Kids and Travel: Disney Channel’s Pass The Plate

One of the issues parents have when they consider bringing their kids along to travel is what the children will eat when they are away. The masterminds at my favorite corporation, Disney, have taken control over this situation by introducing kids to meals eaten around the world with ingredients we also use stateside.
Disney Channel’s Pass the Plate stars The Suite Life on Deck’s Brenda Song as an adorable Californian who maneuvers her way through farm fresh ingredients, tasty meals, and inviting appetizers to connect with other DC stars across the globe. From Brazilian Fruit Salad created by Robson Nunez to pasta making with DC Italy’s Ambra Lo Faro, our favorite meals are constructed with an International twist, then brought back around to Song, who makes her own recipe.
While I love seeking out new healthy foods and meals, I especially love the globe trotting aspect. Bother and Sister Paulina and David make me long to buy mango’s in Mexico City, I crave street market peppers with Lea and Julien, and Bless 4′s bento boxes have me searching discounted Asia airfares.

[...] Travel With Kids and Food [...]
I love Pass The Plate and love the curiosity it awakens in my children about foods and how things they already know are used differently in other countries. I also think we should sway away from ordering chicken fingers and fries (or whatever kid’s menu standard) for our children when we travel. The love for something different and new comes from the exposure to it.
Hi, interesting post. I have been pondering this topic,so thanks for sharing. I will certainly be subscribing to your blog.

When traveling, it's important to consider all types of accommodations. There are several European hostels whose resemblance is closer to a hotel than a hostel, or think about booking a room at an inn or timeshare rental where you always wanted to explore. You can often garner a resort vacation with none of the usual commitment or expense and in exquisite and exotic locations. Timeshare adventures run the gamut from beach front in Goa to Eco-resorts in the rainforest.
