They’ll Have to Learn Sometime: Flying With Kids

Two family friends are against taking their four-a-piece kids to Disney World because they aren’t comfortable with their children being on airplanes. I’d never heard this before speaking to them, but am starting to hear it more and more.

I’m always confused when parents aren’t ready to subject their children to traveling from a young age; what better time to look at the world than through the wide eyes of a child? As a parent, do the safety risks sometimes outweigh the pleasure of the situation?

My favorite ideas for family vacations are the beautiful and scenic mountains. Whether the Poconos, Adirondacks, or Ozarks, there are plenty of activities to be done, with a little quiet time for mom and dad. They can even be done with a car for those families afraid to sky it.

Another option, for out of the country adventurers, is New Zealand! Try to get away during a US winter and you have a land so exciting yet so familiar, it’s like you’ve stepped into Alice’s looking glass!
