Away We Go: Insider Travel Tips
We’re here! We’re here! We had a fantastic time traveling through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and lots of other places, but are SO glad to be here, in Florida, at the Walt Disney World Resort. This is no normal trip to Disney World, though. We’re proud enough to be among several WDW cast members who are guiding us through the parks, one attraction at a time, as we explore the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
Here are some tips from a very special Disney Castmember who took the time to speak with us:
1. If you’re staying at a nearby hotel off Disney property, park at Downtown Disney and take advantage of their free park shuttle buses, which leave frequently.
2. Resort guests can get these buses right at their resort door- including to/from the airport!
3. Disney Dining Plan member? Save one of those meals and try a snack breakfast. You can get a really great and filling pretzels in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrow Land Lunching Pad. They come in Jalapeno and Cream Cheese. Other Advanced Dining Reservations can be made 90 days in advance via phone. And save MORE with FREE dining plans in August and September.
4. If you’re lucky enough to be able to do Extra Magic Hours (resort guests only) try to hop on the rides as the other guests are leaving- the views are stunning. A particular favorite is Splash Mountain. The top of that 50 foot drop is a great place to spy parades and fireworks, too.
5. Speaking of fireworks, they’re an awesome time to jump on ride lines, as well. Or, try the Tomorrowland Transit Authority during fireworks for great views.
6. Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios will take less time than the other parks. If you need to double up, try those two together.
7. A bathing suit top comes in handy at Animal Kingdom where rides with a splash factor are very present.
8.There are a ton of free things to do at The World. Check this out for more info.
9. Don’t bring a bag. All you need is a small pouch for your pocket with some money and IDs and you’ll be fine. Bags can be cumbersome on rides.
10. A lil planning goes a long way. Try a loose itinerary so you can get everything done. There are a ton of resort sites, planning websites, and park guides to help you out.
